The processor has a signal processing circuit that is provided with a digital signal processor. The digital processor generates a coarse video signal that is indirectly displayable on a video screen from image signals generated by a charge coupled device sensor .An auxiliary circuit has a correction circuit that generates another coarse video signal that is directly displayable on the video screen included for the following: (a) video endoscope (b) a camera for an endoscope.

The Olympus OTV-S7 is the digital processor and camera control unit (CCU) of the VISERA imaging platform used in minimally invasive surgery. The set typically comprises the OTV-S7 digital processor, the camera control unit, a coupler, power and DVI cables, and a choice of standard or autoclavable camera head. The processor converts the camera head signal into a video image with the colour reproduction, edge enhancement and light metering expected of a dedicated endoscopic chain, and outputs it over DVI to a surgical monitor for the theatre team.

Installation, Care and Quality Control
Allow free airflow at the rear and sides of the chassis; blocked ventilation is the most common cause of thermal shutdown in theatre towers. Use only the specified lamp and light-guide components with the matching coupler, and confirm earth continuity of the whole stack when it is first installed. Camera heads and couplers should be leak-tested before autoclaving. Each unit we supply is powered on, checked for image output on a test monitor, and inspected for connector and fan condition before packing.
